His helmet falls to the floor with a heavy “TONK”
Rene crawls onto his captain’s chair, looks down at his newly uncovered sky-colored eyes. “J…It’s going to be a long trip…And we both have to put up with the newlyweds.” She gives an annoyed sideways glance towards the bow of the ship where Gai and Mikoto were likely being a married couple. J does nothing but stare unyieldingly up at her.
She turns her glance back to him. “I want to kiss you, J.”
J isn’t a man to hesitate, but this is a new situation. Rene - this impressive Earth warrior - looms over him, her eyes full of…what is this? Hope? Hunger? He couldn’t place the feeling. She was so close to him. This was his ship, and he its captain, he could dismiss her easily for daring to invade his space. But he could feel she meant no threat - or, no harm at least. And there was something here, he wanted to explore it. He could do nothing but be honest. “I don’t know what that is.”
She bites her lip, biting back a chuckle. Does he really not know what a kiss is? Or is it a simple cultural misunderstanding? Even alien death knights must have ways of showing affection. Rene felt quite daring. Normally she was fighting off such urges, but now she was realizing she liked being the one in charge. And the fact that he didn’t even know what she was doing only made the feeling stronger. She had only ever been around older men, who always acted like they knew better than her. Now here she is in the lap of an alien who feels both ancient and new at the same time. She could teach him some new tricks. “It’s where two people press their lips together. It’s to show tenderness for each other. May I kiss you?”
J gawks, trying very hard to understand the situation. A small nod. A small “yes.”
Rene gives a tiny smile, gently places a hand on his jaw - with this partner she doesn’t need to worry about which hand - and angles his pointed head in such a way to avoid the need for an eyepatch later. She shifts so that she’s now straddling his lap, leans in and presses her lips to his, and closes her eyes.
J, realizing he should probably follow suit, does the same.
He feels the sand on the wind, and the hot desert air. He’s home. But it’s as empty in his head as it is in reality. No one is here, and the once beautiful cities lie in ruin. He’s alone, at least for a moment. For now towering behind him is a warrior goddess.
In all of the desolation, J starts, sensing the presence behind him, and whips around, “Lady Abel!” And drops to the sand in a deep prayer-like bow, offering his splayed palms up to her.
Her voice, commanding and calming at the same time, resonates throughout the land. “Oh, J-002, my last remaining child…You’ve been wandering this desert in your mind for so long that now even your body has become a desert.”
J lifts his head to look up at his creator, questioningly.
“You must be so tired. You haven’t rested a day since. You’ve avenged us all, you’ve done everything in your power for us. But J…
We may all be gone, but you still have your life. And staying in the desert is no way to live, not when there is so much more to experience.”
“…My Lady?”
“Arise, J.” She gives him a warm smile. “And go play in the garden.”
J’s eyes shoot wide open. The feeling of a switch flicking on in his mind. His heart beginning to race. What’s going on?
Rene is startled, withdraws her tongue from J’s mouth and sits upright in his lap.
J stares through Rene, out into space, a carnal look in his eyes. He realizes what shocked her - his hands around her waist, gripping her upper thighs, as a double throb meets her groin. He gives a tentative glance up into her eyes.
Rene is surprised her kiss worked so well. And surprised at J’s sudden boldness. Normally so dignified and under tight control, now he seems somewhat unhinged. And, ‘is that two separate throbs I’m feeling…?’
J’s intense eyes bore into hers, and a wild smile grows on his face.
